what's new? / history of the site

• 16 March 1998
  • Almost done. Relaunch is tomorrow (complete with US mirror).

• 14 March 1998
  • The conversion of the old site contents to the new look is now complete. It took about ten times as long as I thought it would, mainly because I've had half a dozen other things on the go. However, with a final bound, it's all there, and now starts the addition of the new bits. The site is close on 13,000 hits now, so my 10k celebration was a bit out!

• 17 December 1997
  • I'm about halfway through the redesign. It's looking more functional and modern than the previous one, and is certainly going to be easier to maintain. The idea was to celebrate my 10,000th hit with a new design, but it looks like 11,000th is going to be more like it. As it happens, around the time I started on the new design, Lush appear to have split for good. No big surprise there, then.

  • I'm thinking of doing something with the site. I'm not sure what, though. A redesign, maybe. I've got a few bits and bobs which Lush fans would like knocking around on my various hard drives. It's cool that Lush are obviously still loved by many; the counter keeps clocking up - who'd have thought I'd be creeping close to 9000 hits?! Apologies for the slowness in updates, but I've been finishing off my uni degree, and there hasn't been any Lush news to put up anyway. It's looking increasingly like Lovelife was the last Lush album.

• 08 February 1996
  • Brought the site up to date again, after Lars' Eyesore CD offer thing spurred me on. I figured that if the site was to be on a CD, it may as well be up to date. I did all the lyrics and stuff ages ago, like, months ago, and then uni took over, and I was working again, blah blah. To tell the truth, Chris' death knocked me sideways a bit. Anyay, here it all is.

  • Added Chris' obituary. Not a happy occasion, but I think it said what should have been said.

• 27-28 August 1996
  • Now the site is at a truly permanent location, and one that is faster to respond to everyone as well, I hope, things are once more on the move. Updated graphics, added Java power, new and updated links, more credits and - at last - lyrics. And this is just the beginning (or so). I've got some good ideas brewing...
