It's over

Well, that's it. The Lush split is official, announced in music mags by 4AD. I heard about it first at the end of last year, unofficially, and now it's confirmed. The band could never be Lush again, after Chris died, and I'm sort of glad they never re-formed without him. I would have gone to watch them play again, but it would've been a fairly melancholy event - the thought in the back of your mind, the underlying tragedy behind the situation. People say, well, so and so played after their drummer killed himself! Well, yes. But Lush are different. Were different.

What of the three remaining members? Miki, doing nothing apparently, Phillip King will soon be seen on the road playing with the Jesus and Mary Chain. And Emma?

Sing Sing

.....is the name of Emma's new band!

MTV News say:
Lush guitarist Emma Anderson, who co-wrote material for the group, is currently in the studio with her new outfit, Sing-Sing, which she formed with Joely Tonna and Lisa O'Neill.

So. This site mutates into a Lush/Sing Sing site. I can't wait to hear their first stuff!
